Tobias J. Hirshman has been a trial attorney since 1978. From then until 1982 he represented plaintiffs in the areas of civil rights, environmental and public interest advocacy in West Virginia.
From 1982 to 1995, Toby was a medical malpractice attorney in Cleveland, most recently as a partner with Jacobson, Maynard, where he defended physicians, hospitals, health care providers and insurance companies.
After leaving the firm in 1996, Toby has represented personal injury victims in the areas of medical malpractice, sexual abuse litigation, nursing home negligence and unsafe working conditions.
He sat on the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys, and as a Trustee for the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers. He also served as the head of the Ohio Academy's Section on Medical Malpractice.
Toby has received Martindale Hubbell's highest AV rating of "very high to superior legal ability," based on a survey of his peers. He has obtained numerous seven figure recoveries for his clients.
Toby is a graduate of the University of Vermont, and received his law degree from California Western College of Law.
